COFFEE SHOP

We are thrilled to announce that construction is underway on our Yellow Elephant Coffee Shop, with a projected completion date of early fall this year. Located just a few miles from our campus on Rwanda's main North-South highway and convenient to Rwanda's new international airport that is nearing completion, YECS will be a self-sustaining enterprise that provides foundational job and life skills training in a Christ-centered environment. All of the funding for Yellow Elephant Coffee Shop’s construction, equipping, and first year’s operating expenses is being provided by a grant from a generous partner.

By prioritizing jobs for at-risk women and youth from our community, YECS will provide a pathway to dignity and stability for vulnerable populations, helping break cycles of generational poverty. Employees will gain valuable skills in customer service, food and beverage preparation, and business management, which will open doors to future opportunities and transform lives and our community.

The Yellow Elephant Coffee Shop is not just a business; it's a sustainable solution. The revenue generated from the shop will directly contribute to paying school fees for at-risk children, ensuring their access to quality education, and increasing the number of children and their families who can benefit from Rwanda Children's initiatives. Microloans, mentorship, and skill development programs will be offered to motivated individuals, enabling them to establish or grow their businesses. YECS's mission aligns with the biblical principle of equitably sharing resources and loving our neighbor. By generating its own income, YECS will help reduce Rwanda Children’s reliance on external donations, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission and ministry.
